STUDIO NOTEBOOK
An ongoing collection of my thoughts, reflections and inspiration
In every season of my life, creativity has found its way back to me through dance, writing, and mixed media. Even before I fully understood myself, I understood the need to create, to express, and to connect.
For a long time, I forced things that were never truly aligned with who I was- environments, habits, relationships, and versions of myself that slowly pulled me further from my center. I carried myself as though I was whole, even when I knew the mask was barely concealing the person I was becoming.
Life has a way of forcing us to pause. In that stillness, I stopped running from myself, I slowed down and I listened.
Stripped of the things I thought defined me, I was left with only myself. Beneath the grief and unraveling was a fierceness, an ember, a part of me that refused to disappear.
The years that followed were painful, but they became a season of rebuilding. I found my way back to creativity, wandered through jungles, coastlines, and countries that asked nothing of me except my presence. In those spaces I discovered a deep sense of peace, where I didn't have to perform or explain myself. I simply existed, and little by little, the person I thought I had lost began to emerge again.
I've been shaped by seasons that asked more of me than I thought I could give. The lessons they carried were often difficult, but they changed me in ways I could not have imagined. The woman I am today was formed through those moments of breaking and rebuilding.
The pieces I create are an extension of that journey. Each one carries a fragment of transformation, expressed through the flow of movement, textures, colors and natural forms. My hope is that these pieces bring a sense of grounding to your space, an invitation to pause, reconnect and return.
Twambo Studio is a continuation of that return.
And this, is where I begin again.
